East Jakarta Mayor Monitors Channel Construction Project on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar together with his ranks and DPRD Vice Chairman, Abdurrahman Suhaimi, monitored the construction of a connecting channel (Phb) and a crossing channel along Jalan Raya I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Klender, Duren Sawit, on Sunday (10/3).

On that occasion, Anwar and Suhaimi sprayed red paint on the asphalt to mark the start of the excavation for the connecting channel.

The Mayor disclosed, the construction has been carried out since September 27 and it would take at least 2.5 months. It was targeted to be complete on December 15.

"It is done to anticipate flooding in RW 10 Klender," he stated.

DPRD Vice Chairman, Abdurrahman Suhaimi, appreciated the action and was expected to be carried out proportionally and professionally thus it could be a solution the flooding problem in Klender.

"In the recess, we received a lot of complaints about flooding in Klender, that's why we appreciate the mayor with this action," he exclaimed.

Drainage Development and Improvement Division Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri uttered, two heavy equipment had been alerted to support the work at the location.

According to him, it was developed using box culverts measuring 2.5 meters, where they attached on right and left sides with 50 centimeters distance.

"We will speed up it every 24 hours non-stop. Hopefully it can be completed on target," he hoped.
